Accommodation area – where is it and what do I need?

The accommodation area is located in the Hall 2 of Messukeskus Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre and it can be accessed via the Glass Gallery near the Southern Entrance by going down the stairs next to the Large Item Storage. When you arrive at the accommodation area, you will be assigned a space from the hall to sleep in.

Since there will be no sleeping equipment available at the convention and the floor is made of concrete, all visitors should bring along their own mattresses, pillows, blankets or sleeping bags to guarantee a comfy rest.

Please note that the accommodation area is meant only for sleeping, not for storage. After waking up, visitors must clean up their sleeping space from all items before leaving the accommodation area. Mattresses, sleeping bags and other such equipment can be stored at the Large Item Storage when not in use.

Volunteer workers will be present at all times to assist the visitors and guard the accommodation area.

Personal hygiene

Showers and toilets in the accommodation area are open 24 hours a day throughout the convention. There will also be a chance to use the sauna during the weekend.

Food and drink

Several food venues, cafes and a restaurant serving alcoholic beverages can be found within the convention area. Businesses and restaurants in the surrounding city area also welcome visitors of Ropecon.

Other accommodation options

For those visitors looking for other accommodation options, the Holiday Inn hotel adjacent to the Messukeskus Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre provides a combination of convenience and comfort. As both public and private transport links to Pasila are excellent, accommodation in other parts of Helsinki is also a viable option. Visitors traveling with a camper or a caravan should note that camping is not allowed in any of the parking areas at Messukeskus.
